ABOUT US

Our Story

March 29 has been declared Vietnam Veterans Memorial Day. It is a day set aside to honor those who fought in the era of Vietnam. When the United States withdrew our troops in 1975, the men and women in uniform were instructed to put civilian clothes on before they traveled off the military bases - for their safety. The war had grown so unpopular that people spat on military. They threw things at them and on them. They shouted at them and taunted them. This was quite unfair. Most of the men who went to Vietnam had no choice. They were drafted and had to go into the Army or go to jail. On March 31,2018, Rector, AR is going to Welcome home the Vietnam Vets. Too little, too late, for sure, but it is a small way we can show our appreciation for men and women who endured so much for so little appreciation. Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans.
